at this time last year I was frantically trying to put some rochester themed work together for my first ever gallery, which was at @laughinggullchocolates from September through November. it pushed me so far out of my comfort zone because I’ve always felt that I’m much more skilled at portraiture than landscape/architecture photography. this photo may not seem like anything special but it’s probably my favorite one from the whole show because I felt like I finally understood why people take photos of scenery: no, you’ll never capture the beauty completely. but you can show a new angle that isn’t typically seen. the Frederick Douglass-Susan B. Anthony Memorial bridge is a very common shot for photographers, but not from this perspective. think of how much weight has gone across this structure over the years! idk man, I think bridges are cool. if you read all of this, I’m impressed.
